Non-Competitive: Open Heats
- There are no qualification requirements for Open Heat Ultra World Championship athletes.
- All racers are able to sign up.
Competitive: Elite & Age Group Heats
- Male and female Elite and Age Group athletes qualify for their respective heats by completing any Spartan Ultra race between October 11, 2021 and September 23, 2022 (the day prior to the Ultra World Championship race weekend).
- Any completed Ultra race is valid regardless of course location, length, terrain type or finish time.
- The Open Heat UWC is still a 24-hour event. There is also a 21K Beast race during the UWC race weekend.
- Athletes are permitted to register for the UWC prior to completing their qualification Ultra.
